Urbex photography

'I have always looked upon decay as being just as wonderful and rich an expression of life and growth.'
(Henry Miller, author 1891-1980).

Abandoned buildings, factories, installations, that is what urbex photography is all about. Follow in the footsteps of the old souls who once belonged there through dilapidated houses.

Dark rooms, narrow wet cold rooms, rusted metal, pieces of wood fall from the ceiling with a loud thump on the floor. It is a journey through a strange world. Sometimes it's like moving through a horror movie. When you enter a building you are initially surprised and awed by the beauty of the architecture, but also by the decline. You do not take photos for the first half hour, but you are only exploring. You try to imagine what it was like at the time the building was occupied and functioned normally. As if you are in a trance. Then you start thinking about how you can capture all this as nicely as possible and which techniques best suit the natural light that is present.

Urbex photography gives you a great appreciation of the local history and you feel affinity with every location and the surrounding community. I am lucky enough to be able to show all my adventures through beautiful sets of photos.
